DIY Revamped Jacket

Yesterday my mom pulled out a jacket that she has been wanting to wear recently but noticed that some of the buttons were missing. We decided to do a quick DIY to revamp it to make it look a bit new. It is a blue fabric coat that is perfect for spring time as the warmer weather is quickly arriving!

Materials:

- Buttons

- Needle

- Thread

- Scissors

As you can some of the buttons we missing on the top portion. 

We removed all of them entirely but made sure we still knew the correct placement. 

Taking some new buttons that we bought from the craft store we sewed them on. 

Once we had finished this was the complete look!

DIY Quick and Easy No Clasp Chocker

I thought today I would upload another DIY that I did recently since the one I did last week was so much fun to create. This week I am going to show how to make a no clasp chocker that looks just as cute as the minimalistic ones you can buy in the store. This DIY actually wasn't created by me but my sister. We both love the idea of a chocker but was never 100% invested in purchasing multiple. These chokers are small and delicate and feature a charm to add a girly touch.

The materials you will are:

- choice of string

- charms of choice

- a pair of scissors

The first step is to cut your string down to a reasonable length in which you still have room to tie it around your neck.

Select the charm you want to put onto the chocker. Another thing I love about this DIY is that it is super adjustable meaning you can interchange the charms when you feel like! 

Put the charm onto the chocker. 

Tie it around your neck and you are finished!

DIY: Back to School Notebook/Binder Cover

For today's post I will be sharing with you a DIY I made the other day for my plain notebook. In the beginning I didn't think it would turn out looking the way I planned, but it ended up looking pretty neat. The components you will need for this DIY are:

- a notebook (mine came with a cover to easily slip in the design, if not you can glue it on)

- a pencil

- a pair of scissors 

- hole puncher 

- glue stick or doubled sided tape

- stickers or transparent printouts 

Step 1: Cut the paper down to the size of your notebook or binder

Step 2: Spread out and align the stickers and printouts the way you like, then glue them onto your template. 

Step 3: Once you have your printouts and sticker glued onto the page draw out where there needs to be holes punched for the notebooks. 

Step 4: Next, use the hole punch to cut out the holes to fit the notebook or binder. 

Step 5: Lastly, write on the subject the notebook is for.

That was my quick and easy back to school DIY that took no time at all. This a simple way to add something different to your notebooks during the ever so long school year. I hope you all enjoyed reading and recreating my first DIY. Thanks for reading!

Sister Style 01

Today I will starting a new themed post called "Sister Style." For those wondering, it features my sister and I showing different looks since we have such different yet similar styles. My sister enjoys much more edgier pieces compared to me. I prefer more preppy items to add to my wardrobe. We share alike interests though when we reach for grungier and more casual pieces. This day we were headed out to explore the city and to do some shopping. We reached for much different outfits and I thought it would we interesting to share what we wore on this breezy summer day. 

To begin with, my sister reached for a green suede dress with interesting texture and flare from the brand Ripe. (sold out)

Her blue jean jacket with rose gold detailing and brown stitching is from Forever 21. 

The small black choker with an attached charm is a DIY. (coming soon!)

Lastly her gladiator inspired sandals are from XOXO.

For my look, I opted for a more casual look starting with a white t-shirt with folded sleeves from Zara (similar). 

My pink drape vest with silver detailing is from the brand 1. State (similar).

For my bottoms, I am wearing a pair of light blue distressed jeans from H&M which are folded at the ankle. 

My bracelet is from Lokai. 

Finally, my black leather ankle boots are from Steve Madden. 

To conclude, my sister and I have very different contrasting styles. My look was quite structured and boxy unlike my sister's which was more fitted. I opted for more light and pastel colours compared to my sister who chose darker and more bolder colours. Overall my sister and I share many pieces and admire each others personal style. The Beginning of Something New!

Hello everyone! I don't really know how to begin this blogpost as I have thought of many ways in which it could have began. This blog is my showcase of hobbies and interests I adore. It combines my love for fashion, DIY, photography and travel. As this journey has just begun I would like to say that as you read this blog I will be learning constantly about how to properly run and function a blog. I would like to post regularly and have a soon developed schedule. I have always wanted to start a blog to show different looks and how I styled them but I never thought that it would actually happen. Today I would like to show you one of my favourite ensemble's which includes some of my most beloved pieces. This pictures were taken by my sister who also enjoys photography and will be featured hopefully often on here.

Sophisticated Winter to Spring Look

Here in Canada winter is still among us, but some days are becoming a bit warmer which means I am able to reintroduce my spring wardrobe! Spring is one of my favourite seasons because you are able to incorporate elements from winter and summer which makes it very versatile. Today's look features one of my new obsessions which is my beige coloured trench coats. Trench coats can be difficult to find because you are always looking for the perfect fit but what I found that helps in searching for the perfect one is to look for one with a belt. A belt can easily singe your waist giving your body more of shape and makes it look like there is less of a fabric that has just been hung over you. Another problem that some encounter with trench coats is how to style it and today I will be showing you how I did that by incorporating some more spring pieces to get you all excited for the upcoming weather!

My khaki coloured lightweight trench coat is from Forever 21.

My black jeans are from Urban Outfitters specifically the brand BDG. 

My light wear knit sweater is from Brandy Melville.

Sister Style 02

Today is the second instalment of Sister Style and this one features our adventure to Toronto for the Santa Claus Parade. It was very exciting to venture into the city and see what it has to offer. It was magical to see all of the characters come to life and the amount of volunteers and musicians that were there to perform. It was an amazing experience yet it was very chilly. We dressed for the weather yet kept fashionable pieces in mind. Living in a colder climate in Canada, it is sometimes difficult to dress appropriately while still keeping your personal style in mind, but I think my sister and I captured that this day.

It was beautiful to see all of the bright and fun colours!

After the parade we headed to the subway to find our way to the mall. My green jacket is from Bedo (similar), my red flannel scarf which kept me very warm was from Urban Outfitters, my jean are from American Eagle (similar) and my Canada gloves are from the Hudson Bay. 

Underneath my jacket, my sweater is from Tommy Hilfiger (similar). 

For my sister's look, her jacket is from BCBG, her leggings are from TNA, her Canada gloves are from the Hudson Bay (similar) and her socks are from Roots.
